Kendall is a census-designated place (CDP) in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The region has a population of 75,371 according to the 2010 census. While the US Census Bureau has established precise borders for Kendall as a CDP, the community's local definition is very vague. 

Prior to the 1950s, the word "Kendall" was used to designate a region centered on US-1, limited to the north by Snapper Creek, to the west by the Everglades, to the east by Old Cutler Road, and to the south by the old hamlet of Rockdale. This region was mostly deserted, with pine rockland interspersed with pastures and groves.

The name "Kendall" came to refer to the several towns developed in the neighborhood of present-day Pinecrest and the eastern half of the current Kendall CDP when the region witnessed significant expansion in the 1950s. When expansion went west in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, so did the term's usage, and it is now most typically referred to the region more formally recognized as West Kendall. Prior to its establishment in 1996, the Village of Pinecrest was still included under the Kendall CDP's formal limits.
